About the Scholarship
The Friends of Governor Dick Environmental Advocacy Scholarship supports students who actively advocate for environmental protection, sustainability, and responsible stewardship of natural resources. This $500 award recognizes meaningful environmental engagement and encourages continued advocacy in the community, school, or even on a broader level.
Environmental advocacy can take many forms — large or small, formal, or informal.
Students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a high school senior or undergraduate student.
- Be enrolled at an accredited institution.
- Demonstrate involvement in environmental advocacy or sustainability efforts in their local community.
All majors welcome.
What Counts as Environmental Advocacy?
Examples include:
- Environmental clubs or organizations
- Community cleanups or conservation projects
- Sustainability initiatives at school or in the community
- Environmental education or awareness campaigns
- Research, innovation, or creative environmental projects
How to Apply
Submit:
- Short Essay (500–750 words)
Describe your environmental advocacy, its impact, and how you plan to continue this work. - Proof of enrollment
