History of The Friends of Governor Dick

As of December 2025, over two decades has passed since the first Friends of Governor Dick group organized to save Governor Dick Hill from clear-cut logging and broad applications of pesticide/herbicide sprays, as well as their concern over lack of need and ongoing costs to operate the yet-to-be-built Education Center. Throughout the years, the efforts and membership of the Friends group have fluctuated as they encountered numerous obstacles. Only in the last few years have we seen movement toward including community opinion and expertise in decision making.
