Friends of Governor Dick (FGD) is an independent community of dedicated volunteers committed to preserving and enhancing Governor Dick. Our primary focus has been halting destructive harvest practices and restoring sites of past harvests. Responding to community enthusiasm, we are now expanding our efforts to support the park’s operations staff. This year, alongside of our conservation priorities, we will collaborate with staff to organize FGD volunteering days. Possible opportunities include invasive weed removal, tree planting, kid-friendly programs, and more. Additionally, we may provide monetary support for special projects, like the new year-round watering fountain sponsored by the biking group (SAMBA).

In addition to directing funds to support the park, there are also costs associated with organizing our group. These expenses can include website domain and hosting fees, printing costs for promotional materials like brochures and flyers, and expenses related to hosting community events.
